I can’t believe it’s day 15 of Blogmas! It’s going by so fast! Today, I’m sharing another cookie recipe! While not my all time favorite, chocolate crinkle cookies are a Christmas classic, and oh so yummy! Did you grow up making these cookies, or are they completely new to you? Either way, if you’re a chocolate lover, these cookies are a must-bake item for the holiday season.
Chocolate crinkle cookies are relatively simple to make. Once the dough is all ready, you simple roll small pieces of it into balls that you then roll in powdered sugar until covered. This is a great task if you want to include small children in the cookie making process as it’s easy to do, or you can do it while watching YouTube videos or Netflix like I usually do.
In general, these cookies are pretty popular with the rest of my family even though they are not my favorite (don’t get me wrong- I do still eat my fair share). My family loves the rich chocolate taste that you get with every bite. And, dunking them in milk is another great way to enjoy them.
Once the cookies come out of the oven, I sprinkle a little extra powdered sugar on top of them to give them extra sweetness and a “freshly fallen snow” look, but that really is an optional step. That’s just how I grew up doing it, and what I do now.
