We’re in the final days leading up to Christmas! The next few days are only made more stressful this year by the winter storm hitting all over the U.S., making holiday travel even more stressful than usual. Now more than ever it’s important to practice self-care. So, today I’m sharing 10 self-care activities that are great for the holiday weekend, or just winter in general. And, no matter how much time you have for yourself, I’ve got options for you.
30 Minutes or Less
- Eat a real lunch. Make yourself something tasty and spend a half hour eating and just sitting. If you don’t want to just sit, pop on an episode of The Office or a YouTube video.
- Keep drinking water, taking vitamins, and not eating too many cookies.
- Write in a journal or hand-write a letter to someone you haven’t seen in a while.
- Spend some time alone stretching or with a heating pad to ease any soreness that you feel.
- Take a power nap.
An Hour or More
- Have a relaxing bath and read or listen to your favorite podcast. Lock the door behind you, grab some epsom salt, bubble bath, or a holiday bath bomb, and just sit. This is also a great time to throw on a face mask.
- Make something hot to drink and watch your favorite holiday movie. If you need to feel productive, you can even do this while wrapping gifts (and taking your time while wrapping).
- Go get a holiday manicure or do some nail art at home.
- Plan a festive date night or girls night.
- Go holiday shopping – for yourself!
