Kendall Ryan’s newest release The Forever Formula, is a small-town, second chance romance, that’s the first book in a new series. And, it’s got fabulous slow, slow burn. I’ve read several books by Kendall Ryan over the past couple of years, and slow burn is just one of the things that she does really well.

Initial Thoughts
Rachel, a nurse from Houston, arrives back in the small town of Kodiak Canyon after the death of her grandfather. Her now broken engagement and recently being laid off does not make things any easier for her. So when she sees Noah again for the first time, sparks fly.
Noah Hart is the lucky guy who once had Rachel’s heart. But when she left for college at 18, the 16 year old Noah was left behind. Now, Noah and his brother Austen have their own brewery and are working to expand the business, part of which requires Rachel’s newly acquired land.

When he first begins spending time with her and helping her out on the renovations she’s doing to the cabin, they begin to realize that their ‘history’ is not just history. The chemistry between the two is still there and only grows as they learn more about each other’s adult lives.
Kendall Ryan is a master of the slow burn. The will they/won’t they exists throughout the entire story, with plenty of intense moments between the two characters. They say they’re friends, the next minute he’s kissing her up against a wall. And when they end up visiting a special location from their past, all bets are off.
Final Verdict on The Forever Formula
Overall, it’s a good book. Not my favorite from the author, but it’s hard to top Playing for Keeps or even the Imperfect Love series. I’m definitely glad I read it. And, I can’t wait to read the rest of the series and learn more about the other Hart brothers.
