A Little Taste is the first book in a new series written by Tia Louise. It’s an enemies to lovers, single dad, small town romance with a mystery/suspense element to it. I’m going to come out and say it from the beginning- this is by far my favorite book from the author.

Initial Thoughts
Aiden Stone is the sheriff of a small town, just like his father was. After going through intense heartbreak, he is guarded and doesn’t trust easily. His entire world revolves around his 7 year old son, Owen. But after a wave of vandalism and crime begins, he finds himself working with Britt Bailey, the youngest member of the ‘rival family’ in town.
Britt Bailey is the granddaughter of the town’s mayor. Her family is known for their strong beliefs in magic and all things mystical. But Britt has tried to stand out on her own and not be a carbon copy of her mother. And she’s had a crush on Aiden Stone her entire life- he was the guy she fantasized about as a teenager. Admit it, we all have a guy like that whether you want to admit it or not.

Final Verdict on A Little Taste
This is by far my favorite book Tia Louise has written – and I like a lot of her books. The mystery element was intriguing and kept me interested but also wasn’t intense enough that it took away from the romance (because while the mystery got me interested, the relationship between Aiden and Britt was the initial draw into the story).
There’s something about the rival families that added a great element to the story that I wasn’t expecting to like as much as I do. Rival families isn’t something new, but the Sone and Bailey families exist as rivals but are forced to work together (literally-Aiden’s boss, the mayor, is the matriarch of the Bailey family). And Aiden’s grandparents were from rival families too. It’s a small detail, but one that just made me appreciate the family rivalry even more, especially when he acknowledges that it wouldn’t be impossible to set their differences aside.
Moments between Aiden and Britt cover pretty much any emotion possible. There’s hate, lust, disgust, longing, and so much more. Did I mention I will never see a ferris wheel the same way again? The first ‘moment’ practically comes from out of nowhere and man it took me by surprise. Seriously. I dropped my kindle on my face. But I loved it. And I can’t wait to read about the rest of the Stone brothers.
