Thoroughly Pucked is the third book in Lauren Blakely’s ‘My Hockey Romance’ series. It features left-at-the-alter Aubrey, and two of brother’s friends, hockey stars Devon and Ledger.
**I received a free, advanced copy of this book for reviewing purposes. Thank you to the author, Lauren Blakely, and to Candi Kane PR for including me in this release!**

The Story
On her wedding day, Aubrey’s husband-to-be ‘drops in’ on her right before the ceremony. Instead of a cute moment, he announces he’s moving (and has already bought the plane ticket), and just wants to be f-buddies. Because, why stop meeting up when the have so much fun during spicy time. He even wants to meet her later that night! (How she didn’t knee him in that moment is beyond me, but hey, she was shocked, I get it.)
Dev and Ledger come to her rescue and get her out of there so she doesn’t have to deal with anyone, and the three spend the day together. And sparks start flying. When Aubrey remembers she is supposed to be leaving for her honeymoon the following day, and can’t get a refund, the guys volunteer to book an extra ticket and join her. They tell Aubrey’s brother Garrett, who happens to be their agent, that they’re all friends.
It doesn’t take long for their relationship to change. Dev and Ledger are fueled by desire and have all the experience needed to handle this arrangement. And Aubrey’s best friends Trina and Ivy (from the other 2 books in the series) had been making suggestive remarks about the three of them together since before the trip even began.

My Verdict on Thoroughly Pucked
Overall, I enjoyed the book, and it earns a solid 3 out of 5 stars from me. Dev and Ledger are very much their own person – they each have distinct personas and are at different places in their careers. In no way are they copies of each other. But for some reason, I could never remember who was who. I knew the differences in the characters, but I kept having to remind myself which man had which name. Even now, if you ask me, I don’t know that I could tell you correctly without having to think about it. This is probably a very ‘me’ problem. But I also didn’t have this issue with the other 2 books in the series.
I loved the dynamics the three characters had, even if just looking at them as friends. They all instinctively knew what the other needed, without it ever needing to be said. All three of them are incredibly generous and kind. You never get the sense that Dev or Ledger do anything with an ulterior motive – they just want to be nice people and help Aubrey through a rough time. They put aside their own wants and desires for her and focus on what she needs in any given moment. (I mean, who wouldn’t want that in a partner?)
I would definitely recommend the series to any lover of hockey romance stories. All three books feature MFM relationships, but each book navigates the new relationship dynamics in their own way. They all have similarities, but each book is very much it’s own story and it’s own journey. In this book and in Double Pucked, the 2 men play on different teams but still manage to be best friends. The strong friendships between all of the players on both teams made it easy to believe as true.
