Have you ever looked at toys that are new today and think about how you would have loved them when you were a kid? I do that all the time. So for today’s Blogmas post, I’m sharing a list of items that would make great gifts for my 15 year old self.

A Ballet Barre
As a dancer, I would have loved to have a ballet barre of my own. It’s definitely something that I would use now, too. But, having a barre at home would have been great for maintaining my flexibility and strength during the summers off. And the bar itself would have to be made of wood- they’e so much nicer to use.
A Mini Photo Printer
I loved taking photos of my friends and I in middle and high school. At the time, I was mainly using disposable cameras (wow, that dates me) or a small digital camera that my Dad had given me after he got a new one. Even now, I have so many photos that I’d never actually printed. Having a mini photo printer would be so much fun to have- now or as a teen. And, it helps that they’re pretty too!
Baking Books
I’ve always loved baking. I can’t remember a time when I didn’t like it. And while The Great British Baking Show didn’t exist when I was younger (that I know of, or at least had access to), I still would have loved getting some dedicated baking books.
Kindle
I resisted the e-reader craze for a long time. And now that I have a Kindle, I wish I’d tried it sooner. I don’t know that it would have changed my reading habits in high school or college, because I already read a lot, but it would have made a huge difference after graduating.
One of the best things I’ve done for myself in 2021 is pick up reading again. The first half of the year I read in bursts, but for the last few months I’ve been reading multiple books a week. I’m so proud of myself for having reached my reading goal on Goodreads this year. It’s not impressive compared to others book challenges, but for someone who hasn’t read like this in over 5 years, it’s massive.
Noise Cancelling Headphones
In high school, and especially college, I wanted a pair of noise cancelling headphones so badly. They would have been so helpful on family trips, on the bus to and from school, or trying to study with other things happening around me. Earlier this year, I did get these headphones, and I love them so much. You can read my full, in-depth review here.
Would any of these gifts been good ideas for your 15 year old self? What other gifts would you have liked as a teenager? Let me know in the comments!
I definitely love the noise canceling headphones. Great list. 🤗

Thanks! Now that I have a pair of them, I don’t know how I went so long without them!
