A Ban on Christmas?!
Oliver Cromwell banned the Pagan holiday of Christmas for 12 years from 1647 in the UK. But the ban was only lifted in Oklahoma in 1907? Meaning that for over 260 years, Christmas was banned in some parts of the US.

Teddy Bears
Teddy Bears are based on a political caricature of President Theodore “Teddy” Roosevelt.
Iconic Trees
The first tree in the Rockefeller Center was in 1933.
Norway donates the Christmas tree for London’s Trafalgar Square.

A Song With a Threat
The song “We wish you a merry Christmas,” was originally a threat. It was often sung by lower-class servants to their masters as a way of demanding alcohol during their own festivities. That’s where the lyric “we won’t go until we get some,” comes from.
Jingle All the Way
In December of 1965, the song ‘Jingle Bells’ made history by becoming the first song to be played in space.
