Looking for a new tv show to binge watch this summer? Here are 5 more shows that I think are more than binge-worthy.
Don’t forget to read Part 1 so that you don’t miss any of my recommendations!

Good Girls (NBC)
This is a recent NBC cancellation, and I am not happy about it. There’s absolutely parts of the show that needed to be over a long time ago (aka Dean), but I am unsure how they will give viewers a satisfying end to the show based on where it is now.
While Good Girls isn’t my favorite show of all time, I do really enjoy it, and it is the only show that is/was ‘current,’ that I am actively watching. And that just makes its’ cancellation even more irritating. If anyone has any recommendations for newer shows that are similar to Good Girls or any other posts in these posts, please let me know in the comments below! (Though, the return of Love Island UK is making me happy at the moment.)

You can watch the first 3 seasons of Good Girls on Netflix, and the currently airing season 4 is available on Hulu.
Prison Break (Fox)
Prison Break is probably the tv show that is most naturally binge-worthy. It’s so difficult to sit down and only watch one episode. Each episode ends on a cliffhanger and there are so many new details that pop up in each. Just Michael’s tattoo alone is incredible detailed. You can see a clip of it in the video below, but as the first season progresses, you see more and more details close-up.
In part 1, I mentioned Wentworth Miller and Dominic Purcell, who are both in Legends of Tomorrow. This show, Prison Break, is where that now iconic duo was born. They play brothers Michael and Lincoln, and their real life friendship comes through on screen. Even if you’ve never been in a situation like theirs, you can still relate to the characters.

Prison Break is available to watch on Hulu.
SPOILER ALERT BELOW!!! (To avoid, just skip to the next show)
Episode 14 is tough to watch. I want to tell you because I wish I had known before I watched the episode (thanks Megan). It would not have stopped me from watching, but I wouldn’t have been so freaked out. Basically, it’s Lincoln’s execution day, and they go through the entire process of last visitation, etc., and Lincoln is strapped into the electric chair. Before they actually… do it… a phone call from the governor stops them. But, it is horrifying to watch. Or at least it was for me- I couldn’t get that image out of my head for days. So, if you have any triggers, or are just hesitant about seeing it in general, just close your eyes. It is very obvious when it’s ok to look again. And just know when you’re watching, that it will all end up being ok. Telling myself that over and over the first time I watched it was probably the only thing that kept me from losing it (and I only knew that because I knew he was in future seasons of the show).
Buffy the Vampire Slayer (The WB – Now Known as CW)
Buffy is such a cult classic and has such dedicated following, that’s it’s absolutely a show everyone should watch at least a few episodes of. And if you’re me, it’s not a tv show that you can watch one episode of. This tv show was binge-worthy before that was even a popular thing. If you’re like me and not a fan of horror or suspenseful things, you’re in luck. This show’s special effects didn’t age well, and that makes it easy for anyone to watch. In season one especially, the effects make it very obvious that this show premiered over 20 years ago. (? I now am thinking about the fact that there are kids in college who were born after this show began…)
There are so many iconic episodes of Buffy, but when you ask someone which episodes are best, 9 times out of 10 they will say one of three episodes: Once More With Feeling (season 6), The Body (season 5), and/or Hush (season 4). All 3 episodes are incredibly well done, and they are all so unlike each other. If I had to choose between the 3 episodes, I would say Hush is my personal favorite, with Once More With Feeling a close second. There’s a reason why both of those episodes were nominated for Emmy Awards.
If you’re a fan of Wentworth Miller (Prison Break), then you can see ‘lil baby Wentworth in his very first acting job in the episode Go Fish, in season 2.

Buffy the Vampire Slayer can be binge-watched on Hulu and Prime Video.
The Good Place (NBC)
The Good Place is a really unique binge-worthy tv show. It’s a comedy, but also deals with very significant philosophical and moral issues. If you’ve read The Inferno, you may like this show. I personally like that there are multiple “levels” in hell. Plus, the show does a good job of not pushing one particular religious belief over another, and instead incorporates elements of all belief systems into its’ own unique one.
If you like Kristen Bell, or Ted Danson, The Good Place is a must-watch show. It does a great job of making a challenging debate such as the trolley problem, and making it more real. This is a great tv show to binge watch while you are baking/cooking. It’s one of my go-tos while doing those things.

The Good Place is available to watch on Netflix.
Modern Family (ABC)
Modern Family ended last year after 11 seasons. I just wish I had watched it sooner. Some people may say that this show is somewhat political, or other similar comments (use your imagination). But that couldn’t be further than the truth. The most political thing in the show is in the premiere of season 5, which opens with celebrating the Supreme Court case which legalized gay marriage. And honestly, there are multiple gay couples in the show from episode 1- it shouldn’t have been a shock.
There are a lot of other things that people criticize with this show, but I’m not going to mention specifics. After all, it is a tv show. It’s fiction. You can appreciate a show or book without wanting to live a life like the characters do. I don’t watch Prison Break and think, ‘hey I should get arrested so I can see if I’m able to break out of a prison.’ So why should a show like this be any different?

OMG Buffy is my favourite show ever! I must have watched it 10 times start to finish already. She was legitimately my style icon haha I even bought a huge silver cross necklace! Modern family is one that’s going to be in my life for a while. Such a feel-good, stress-free watch which I love! x

OMG the cross! It’s so funny to me that people at school always thought she was ‘bad’ but no one ever questioned why she always had a huge cross on. Modern Family is such a funny show- it’s one of those shows that really found its groove right from season one. Thanks for reading!!! xx
Loved Good Girls & Modern Family but my all-time favourite TV show was Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Along with 3 other friends, we set up a VBulletin board for Buffy when it first started and I believe it’s now the only discussion board still going. I stepped down as an admin there years ago but it was such a fantastic show and always had such great discussions about it! 😀
Oh wow that’s awesome! That sounds like so much fun. I love shows that create such a strong fanbase, especially when they are still airing, and you can talk to other fans halfway across the globe about the same episode. Buffy especially, is one of those shows that I can’t imagine not having access to. Thanks for reading!
The Good Place is TV crack– I swear. I simply could not stop watching it when I got into it a couple years ago. Absolute genius >
I agree! It’s so addictive. Thanks for reading!
Ohh, Good Place! That was such an AMAZING show! I loved it. And I think I will be checking out Good Girls, heard a lot of good about it. 🙂
The Good Place was so good! I wasn’t sure what to expect in the beginning, but it was so much better than I expected! Thanks for reading!
I absolutely love Modern Family and The Good Place! I watched the first season of Good Girls but didn’t ever get around to watching the rest – it was pretty good tho x
It’s great! You should give it a try! If you do, let me know what you think!
