It’s finally time for the Only Murders in the Building season 2 finale!!! I’m so excited for this finale, especially after last week’s episode!
*This post will contain spoilers for the majority of season 2, including the newest episode (#10) “I Know Who Did It”
OMITB Season 2 Finale Episode
I admit it, I was wrong! After last week’s episode I was so sure that Cinda Canning was the real killer, but just like last season, OMITB took an abrupt turn and had an even better conclusion than anticipated.

Did you suspect Poppy/Becky? Even after finding out that Poppy was really Becky, I never thought that she would be the guilty party. I just thought perhaps Cinda was paying her off or something to keep her quiet. I definitely will have to watch the season over again soon, and see what clues I missed a long the way. I’m sure I missed a lot. Could there have been a clue in the season 1 finale/final scene that I never noticed?
Even though it went against my ‘final’ theories, I was really glad to see Cinda going back to being a more encouraging/friendly colleague and not a bitter rival. She was always kind of a ‘blah’ character to me, even last season, so I hope that they stay in this direction and utilize Tina Fey’s acting abilities more next season.
I will not be the one-hit wonder of true crime podcasts, Poppy. I won’t. I will not be podcast Nickelback.

Did this finale meet your expectations?
Season 2 Thoughts
Overall, I loved this season of Only Murders in the Building. I’m not sure that I can say definitively which of the show’s 2 seasons I like more yet, but I wasn’t disappointed with season 2. This season seemed to be easier for me to come up with my own theories and ideas. During the first season I think I was just ‘along for the ride.’
But what were the highs and lows of this season? Here are my thoughts – let me know yours in the comments!
The Highs of Season 2
- Backstory for Mabel, Charles, and Oliver
- Some slight redemption for Theo Dimas
- The blackout episode
- Detective Williams as a Momma
- Lucy
- More scenes with Will and overall father-son bonding between him and Oliver
- The secret passages (reminds me of Nancy Drew book #2 The Hidden Staircase, which I read as a kid)
- The ties with the first episode of the show and the podcast that our trio bonded over.
The Lows of Season 2
- Teddy Dimas and the question of who was Will’s father
- Missed opportunity with Mrs. Gambolini
- The painting with Charles’ father – why the hell did Bunny have it and did she know it was her neighbor’s father?
- Alice
- Amy Schumer – what was the point of those few scenes? Just to get her name attached to the show??? While I may not particularly care for Cara Delevingne, her character at least played a role in the story.

So, what did you think of this season of Only Murders in the Building? Leave your thoughts and hopes for season 3 in the comments!
